How to Level up in Alaloth
Leveling up in Alaloth is unorthodox compared to other titles. There are no experience points to rack up and leveling up is instead done by claiming neutral Fighting Areas. Fighting Areas are thematically similar to dungeons in other games and the majority of combat takes place in these locations. On the World Map, unclaimed Fighting Areas are indicated with a red flag. Within, you will find a host of hostile humanoids and creatures that you will need to defeat in order to claim the territory, obtain rewards and count towards any unlocks.
You will level up once the very first time you complete a Fighting Area and from then on, you will level up once per two Fighting Areas completed. You can only level up a maximum of 4 times.
Note that encountering enemy Pawn pieces while traversing the World Map will also lead to combat within a random Fighting Area, but these do not count towards leveling up.
